Northwest rooms get their light late and low, for an hour before sunset, and the rest of the day they are simply cool. This study leans into that: navy walls and a navy ceiling so the room is quiet all day and briefly, spectacularly, lit at six. Oak shelves floor to ceiling, an oak desk under the window, a brass lamp for the other twenty-three hours.
The owner is a writer. She reports the room goes quiet at six and the book got finished.
